Welcome, Future Early Retirees.

As a part of my wealth building journey, I utilize different tools and platforms to help me track my expenses, invest and hold my cash. If you are just getting started, I want to share the platforms I use so you can as well!

  • These are not endorsements. These are tools that I use and work for me. Other platforms may be better suited for you. I encourage you to look at different options before settling in on one.

  • I use this as my high yield savings account.

  • It currently earns me a 4.4% annual interest rate, meaning my cash continues to grow even if it is just sitting in the account.

  • I keep my emergency fund in this account so I can earn interest.

  • There is no annual fee for this account and no minimum deposit when you open the account.

Fidelity

  • I keep all of my investments except for my 401K that I have with my current company with Fidelity.

  • I also have their credit card which earns me 2% on every purchase which gets deposited into my brokerage for me to invest every month.

  • Fidelity is known for being a low cost and easy to use platform. I can confirm this has been my experience!

  • I’m able to do everything I want in terms of investing all in one place. They have helped me set up a regular brokerage account, Roth IRA and Rollover IRA and made the process be seamless. It took less than 5 minutes for each one!

Credit Karma (formerly Mint)

  • Credit Karma shows you what your current net worth is.

  • The platform use to be called Mint before the company that owned it, Intuit, decided to merge it with Credit Karma.

  • All of my financial accounts are link to this app so I can just check the balances here without having to go to each individual account. This includes, loans, cash, credit cards and investments.

  • It does having budgeting capabilities, but it is not always the best about putting your transactions in the correct bucket based on the budget you created.

  • I elect to download the transactions into an and assign them the category in my budget I want to go towards myself.
